Frequently Asked Questions
Wherever I go with my dogs, I get a some of the same questions, like "what kind of dog is that?" or "do aussiedoodles shed?" so I have put together some of the questions I often hear. Of course if you have any specific question about our program please reach out!

"Are Aussiedoodles Hypoallergenic?"
In short, yes! While no breeder can 100% guarantee any dog to be hypoallergenic, because of the poodle in their make-up, aussiedoodles are a considered allergy friendly. Our F1 generations may shed lightly but even families with allergies have reported to have no allergic reactions to these pups. When we do genetic testing on our parents it gives us insight into their "furnishings" so we can pair the right dogs together to give us puppies that will not shed whether curly or straight coats.
"How much grooming do Aussiedoodles require?"
Non shedding does not mean low maintenance when it comes to the aussiedoodle coat. We recommend grooming every 6-8 weeks, with brushing in between. I work with the puppies everyday to get them used to having their feet/nails touched, the vibration of the clippers, and the loud noise of the high velocity blowdryer. We like to keep our dogs shorter in the hot NC summers, this is also less maintenance and the dogs feel much cooler.
"Where are you located, & can we come visit?"
We are located in Sanford NC, a small town about 45 minutes south of Raleigh and 2.5 hours from Charlotte. We raise all of our litters in our home, not a kennel environment so to keep everyone safe we do not allow visitors until puppies are 8 weeks of age. At this point, the puppies will be weaned and mom will be back in her guardian home. Up until then we are happy to FaceTime and send pictures and videos!
"What if I am out of state?"
If you were planning on driving to pick up your puppy, we can meet you up to 2 hours from Sanford NC for a small fee. We also work with a flight nanny company that will fly your new pup in cabin to your closest airport. This is typically an additional $350-$800 depending on how long the flight is. All families regaurdless if you are close or not, once your puppy choice is made, will be sent weekly photos and videos up until go home day at 8 weeks.
"What health testing is done on parent dogs?"
The health of our moms, dads and puppies is of the utmost importance. Our breeding dogs will first be genetically health tested through Embark. This will tell us if the dog is a carrier for any genetic diseases for their breed(s), and also gives us insight on coat traits so we can pair the right dogs together. After Embark is completed and comes back with no genetic diseases, we will do OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animal) prelims, if the dog is under 24 months. This is a preliminary screening for hip and elbow dysplasia. Once the dog is 24 months, radiographs will be done to confirm no hip/elbow dysplasia. We will also complete soft tissue examinations for cardiac, eyes, and patellar luxation. If at anytime in the testing process a dog comes back with scores that are not passing, we will spay/neuter and retire.
